The Hawthorns School is fortunate to have a fabulous group of kind, curious and bright learners who make up our cohort. We have grown steadily since we first opened our doors in January 2023, and we are now at our capacity of 70 pupils.
Our pupils range in age from 7-16, with admittance to the school being from Year 3. The majority of our cohort are boys, with only 10 girls.
All of our pupils have a diagnosis of Autism. This needs to be the primary barrier to learning for pupils to attend The Hawthorns School. However, pupils have a number of co-occuring conditions that impact on their ability to engage in learning and the world around them.

The complexity of co-occurring diagnosis is a challenge our pupils face daily. Over 40% of our pupils have more than 3 diagnoses.
